Longmeadow hoopsters upend Spartans on Senior Night

The Lancers came into the Spartan house and took control of the game from the outset. Spartans seniors played their last game (at home), but fell 68-44. Brice McAllister led all scorers with 17 points. A big Spartan Cheer for Ray Holloway, Brandon Bosworth, Brett VonFlatern, and TJ Maurer. Thanks for your hard work and leadership!

The Bombers rode the hot hand of Alex Garstka, who canned  the game-winning 3 pointer with seconds left to play to edge the Spartans of East Longmeadow at ELHS in Tuesday night high school basketball action. Garstka led all scorers with 18 points. Sam Blake led the Spartans with 15 points and was big in the middle with 14 boards.

2/12/2011: The Spartans did all their scoring in the second period, but maintained puck control throughout the game to beat Minnechaug 3-1 at the Olympia Ice center on Saturday night. Cam Collins, a sophomore, scored twice, while senior Ken Morrisino tallied once.

Spartans girls down Central in opening Hoop Hall Classic game

The Lady Spartans turned up the defensive heat and turned a big second quarter into a convincing 58-34 over the Golden Eagles of Central during opening game action at the Spalding Hoop Hall Classic at Springfield College. EL’s Morgan Belanger, a freshman, led all scorers with 17 points. Freshman point guard Danni White chipped in 11 points. Central’s Dallas Jackson poured in 13 points.
