Endicott Sweeps Daniel Webster, 3-0 in NECVA Volleyball Action

The Endicott men’s volleyball team completed their second sweep in two nights by defeating the Eagles of Daniel Webster, 3-0. East Longmeadow’s Joe Walz, a freshman on the DWC team, played a key role in the outside hitting and blocking efforts. Joe was recently named NECVA Rookie of the Week for his heads up play. Way to go , Joe!

HS Hoops: Westfield Hangs on for 53-50 win at East Longmeadow

The Bombers rode the hot hand of Alex Garstka, who cannedĀ  the game-winning 3 pointer with seconds left to play to edge the Spartans of East Longmeadow at ELHS in Tuesday night high school basketball action. Garstka led all scorers with 18 points. Sam Blake led the Spartans with 15 points and was big in the middle with 14 boards.

HS Hockey: EL Spartans trip Minnechaug 3-1

2/12/2011: The Spartans did all their scoring in the second period, but maintained puck control throughout the game to beat Minnechaug 3-1 at the Olympia Ice center on Saturday night. Cam Collins, a sophomore, scored twice, while senior Ken Morrisino tallied once.

Highlights from the 2011 PVIAC indoor Track Championships held at Smith College. Congrats to the Lady Spartans for their first team titleĀ  … same to Northampton boys, who won for the 4th straight year. Kudos to all participants: while not everyone could win, sportsmanship and team spirit defined the night.
